# Neptune Explorer Scouts

> Neptune is a Royal Navy-affiliated Explorer Scout unit (RN 83) based in Caversham, Reading, Berkshire. Part of 1st Reading Scout Group — one of the oldest Scout groups in the UK, founded in 1908. Neptune itself was established in 2018.

Neptune Explorer Scouts offers young people aged 14–18 a programme of maritime and land-based adventures including kayaking, paddleboarding, open canoeing, dragon boating, Duke of Edinburgh's Award, camping, and navigation. The unit meets every Thursday evening 19:30–21:30 at Wychotes, The Warren, Caversham, Reading RG4 7TH — a waterside activity centre on the River Thames.
